Getting ready.

The USA Four Corners motorcycle tour is a ride to the four corners of the US; San Ysidro, CA, Key West, FL, Madawaska, ME and Blaine, WA.

I had heard about this tour over ten years ago and thought it would be an exciting adventure. Recently retired, I now have the opportunity to fulfill this dream.

I plan on leaving May 5th from my home in Novato, CA and travel south to the first corner, San Ysidro, CA. Below is shown my planned route. I have included a leg from Calgary, AB to Seattle, WA as it will take me through the Canadian Rockies. The route will be a little over 10,000 miles.

At 13 my parents bought me my first 'motorcycle', a Lambretta motor scooter. Recently I bought my seventh motorcycle, a 2005 Honda Goldwing ABS.

The Goldwing is nicknamed the "old man's bike". I must admit the description fits. It has a dry weight of 800 lbs, but with 118 hp it has plenty of power. I have every confidence that this motorcycle is up for the ride.
